What are your safety protocols?Every SUPVenture starts out with a safety orientation. We will review SUP basics and safety on the water. When you book your tour, please let us know if this is your first-time SUP'ing. We can spend some extra time with you before and during the tour. It is mandatory to wear your PFD, not just keep it on your board. It is mandatory to wear your leash. Each PFD comes with a whistle (OR State Law) Anyone under 18 Years old needs to wear an inherently buoyant PFD (vest). 18 and older can wear the belt PFD.

Oregon Water Way Access Permit LinkIn the state of Oregon, if your board is 10' or longer you are required to have a Waterway Access Permit. SUPVentureUs has these permits for our boards. If you are using your own board and it meets the requirements, it is your responsibility to purchase a permit.

What should I wear? When the weather is fine and the water is warm, there really is no better feeling than taking to the water in nothing but your bathing suit or board shorts, with your bare feet gripping the deck pad so you can really feel every movement the board makes as you skim over the water. Of course, this does not give you any protection from the sun, wind, or anything that could hurt your bare feet, so depending on where you’re paddling and the weather and water conditions, you’ll need to consider adding to your wardrobe. Generally, clothing that breathes and doesn't inhibit your movement is perfect for casual paddle boarding and you don't need to put too much thought into it.

What items should I bring for a SUPVenture? For your SUPventure , it's important to be prepared with the right items. First, be sure to bring water, especially on hot days, to stay hydrated during your SUPVenture. Remember to avoid bringing any glass containers for safety reasons. If we are going on a SUP Tour, you are welcome to bring snacks for the trip, and we may even make a stop along the shore for a picnic if you bring food (just make sure to avoid large coolers and reach out to us if you need assistance hauling the food). When it comes to footwear, it's a good idea to bring flip flops or sandals for when we get off the water, but it's recommended to paddle barefoot to ensure you can feel the board and maintain better balance. We want you to have an enjoyable and safe experience, so being mindful of these items will enhance your paddleboarding adventure with SUPVentureUs.
